"Sense and Sustainability"

What the Client Said

Our brief was to challenge the expected and to create a light filled space for an active family and to do so within the confines that are placed over Conservation and heritage listed properties. From the moment we met Luke, we could say nothing less than what a joy it was to work with him. He beautifully navigated the Heritage office of our local council and the perfect balance he achieved between the old and new is a credit to him.  Luke by nature is extremely professional, punctual, communicative and extraordinarily talented. The key ingredients you need in a Building Designer. All of these critical traits are wrapped up in extensive knowledge of sustainability and how to eco-build, something that was very important to us in the design of our property. Luke’s expertise delivered us a gorgeous looking home that uses nature through the saturation of light and glass and louvers meaning that our home requires no synthetic cooling in summer and very minimal heating in winter. It is a beautiful and easy space to live in.  Quite simply there is something very special about Luke Van Jour. He has a finely tuned sense of the nuances that can take a home from ‘lovely’ to ‘WOW’. We are already thinking about ways to work with him again in the future on our next adventure.
